So, I first want to mention that the developer, Luminous Productions, is a studio created from the Final Fantasy 15 dev team…so we should expect a great storyline and some incredible visuals with Forspoken. The good news doesn’t stop there though. The writers for the game include Gary Whitta who helped bring us Rogue One: A Star Wars Story as well as Amy Hennig who served as creative director for the first three Uncharted games. And last but certainly not least, the music will be brought to us by the God of War composer, Bear McCreary. So yea…with that kind of line-up behind a game, it’s definitely one that is sure to deliver on its promises.
So what is Forspoken? The developer tells us that it is about a young woman named Frey from New York City who is transported to the beautiful and cruel land of Athia. As Frey searches for a new home, she must use her newfound magical abilities, which comes from a gold cuff that can speak to her, to explore the sprawling landscapes and battle monstrous creatures. In order to return to the world she knows, Frey must deal with the Tantas, which are the all powerful matriarchs holding Athia hostage.
